The Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning (MSIP) formed a working group of advisory committee, composed of experts from academia, research institutes, and businesses, to develop a 10-year plan to revolutionize brain science. With their commitment, in-depth research on scientific policies and trends in neuroscience was performed, and the government of Korea has announced the “Korea Brain Initiative” on 30th May 2016.

The Neuro's (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) mission is to understand the brain, find cures and effectively treat people with neurological disorders. A large part of our mission is our focus on research, care and education. Our fundamental research contributes to immediate or future breakthroughs, our translational clinical research benefits patients while they are in our care. The Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative (ADDI), a 501(c)(3) medical research organization (MRO), is dedicated to fundamentally transforming Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research, accelerating progress towards new treatments and cures for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We see a future where open data and global collaboration power the end of AD.

The University of Oslo (UiO) was founded in 1811 as the first university in Norway. Today, UiO is the highest ranked university in the country, and Norway’s second largest university with 8 faculties, 10 Norwegian Centers of Excellence, 2 museums, 28 000 students, 7 000 employees and 8,4 billion NOK in total budget (2020). UiO’s EU research project portfolio is extensive with over 100 projects funded by Horizon 2020. UiO also ranks as 25th in Europe based on its number of ERC grant-holders.

The Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-7) at the Helmholtz Associations' Research Center Jülich, Germany, investigates the relationship between brain and behavior to characterize the organization of the human brain and its inter-individual variability. With an interdisciplinary and international team of scientists, it aims to foster a global community of neuroscientists and to contribute to a perpetual exchange of experience and knowledge through national and international collaborations.

WCNC is a regional alliance focused on developing and promoting neuroinformatics initiatives for scientists in Western Canada. The group was established by The University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, with the intention to expand to other sites. WCNC works in tandem with other national partners in the Canadian Open Neuroscience Platform to coordinate national efforts in support of INCF's mandate.

NeuroImaging Tools & Resources Collaboratory is an award-winning free web-based resource that offers comprehensive information on an ever expanding scope of neuroinformatics software and data. Since debuting in 2007, NITRC has helped the neuroscience community make further discoveries using software and data produced from research that used to end up lost or disregarded. NITRC also provides free access to data and enables pay-per-use cloud-based access to unlimited computing power, enabling worldwide scientific collaboration with minimal startup and cost.

The Neurobiology Research Unit (NRU) at Copenhagen University Hospital Rigshospitalet in Denmark conducts translational neuroscience research with the aim to promote preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic advances. We make use of neuropsychological and behavioral assessments combined with MRI, PET, SPECT and EEG in humans to investigate basic neurobiological mechanisms in the healthy brain and brain disorders, as well as neuropharmacological effects on the brain. Advanced image processing and statistical methods are applied to our data.

The Sainsbury Wellcome Centre (SWC) brings together world-leading neuroscientists to generate theories about how neural circuits in the brain give rise to the fundamental processes underpinning behaviour, including perception, memory, expectation, decisions, cognition, volition and action. Funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and Wellcome, SWC is located within UCL's School of Life and Medical Sciences and is closely associated with the Faculties of Life Sciences and Brain Sciences.
