About

The Essential Metadata for 3D BRAIN Microscopy metadata standard (now referred to as 3D Microscopy Metadata Standards or 3D-MMS) helps ensure that a 3D microscopy dataset is sufficiently described to support its re-use by scientists who did not generate the data. The metadata standard builds on existing efforts including the DataCite metadata schema and the Open Microscopy Environment (OME) to promote adoption and utility.  These metadata standards are being implemented within the Brain Image Library, the designated repository to accept and make microscopy data publicly available for investigators funded by the US BRAIN Initiative
